Artist Manaf Halbouni’s projects looks at the Sykes-Picot Agreement of 1916, when borderlines in the Middle East were drawn by British and French diplomats. Manaf is turning history around, imagining a world where the colonisers become the colonised. Through rewriting maps and playing the character ‘General Yusef Hadid’, Manaf highlights the consequences of such an agreement.
