Kutumba are a traditional folk ensemble and one of the leading bands in their home country of Nepal. They are visiting Huntly as part of their 2014 European Tour. Their enchanting music, evocative and upbeat proved immensely popular when they last performed in Scotland in 2012.
They play traditional Nepalese instruments including drums, flute and sarangi and draw inspiration from Nepal's rich heritage of folk music. During their time here they will be collaborating with local musicians to create exciting new pieces with a Scottish twist which may feature in the concert program.
This is a fund raising event for local charity Himalayan Initiatives SC044266 which supports community development projects in Nepal.
Nepalese handicrafts will be available to purchase on the night.
